GJ CO.LAB
two designers, one vision, one material in perpetual movement.
The GJ CO.LAB collective unites textile designers GILLES WERBROUCK and JULIE DENIS in pursuit of a shared vision: exploring materials, combining expertise, and pushing the boundaries of contemporary textiles.
Specialising in knitting, weaving and fibre manipulation, GJ CO.LAB is a laboratory for research and experimentation where two unique worlds interact to create shared designs at the intersection of art, design and craftsmanship.
Co Founder - Gilles Werbrouck
At Studio Gilles Werbrouck, knitting is approached as a true field of experimentation where craftsmanship and innovation converge. Every creation is an exploration of shapes, textures and volumes that pushes the traditional boundaries of knitwear.
Every piece is handcrafted using artisanal machines and carefully selected natural yarns, as well as unexpected recycled materials such as VHS tapes, breathing new life into discarded items.
The intersection of craftsmanship and textile research transforms knitwear into volume, texture and emotion, giving each piece a unique presence and materiality where experimentation meets the poetry of the material.
